on life's journey,
you are welcome here.
In the award-winning, Emmy-nominated documentary, Traces of the Trade, members of the DeWolf family discover that their New England ancestors were the largest slave-trading family in U.S. history. The family retraces the Triangle Trade, uncovering how deeply the North was involved in slavery, and gaining fresh perspectives on race. Most white people have foresworn overt racism, but what remains? What are the structural inequities, and what kinds of racial baggage do many of us carry? This film premiered at Sundance, and aired nationwide on PBS.
