  • Pastoral Care

At United Church we have a culture of caregiving. We hope that begins every Sunday morning when we extend an “extravagant welcome” to all who join us for worship. To us, community building means sharing frequent meals with each other, bringing food for fellowship after church, and showing up for each other when someone is going through a tough time.

For any pastoral caregiving concern, or to add something to the weekly prayer list, please contact one of our pastors.

Church members are invited to participate in our pastoral care ministries:

    Bereavement Committee

Offers support to families following the death of a loved one, primarily by organizing the reception following a memorial service held at the church.

    Meal Train Group

Creates and shares opportunities to provide meals for church members who could use that support, such as after a birth or death in the family.

    Card-making Group

Generally meets on the first Thursday of each month. Supplies are provided, along with suggestions and assistance for creating cards for church members on our prayer list and others you may know that you feel moved to send a card to.

    Caregiver Support Group

A group of people providing long-term care to loved ones – or have done so in the past – meets regularly on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. to share with and support one another. Meetings are currently on Zoom, with occasional in-person gatherings.
