VALENTINE’S DANCE AND CHOCOLATES TO FEATURE
LIVE MUSIC OF THE AMBASSADORS BIG BAND
The Ambassadors Big Band will provide live music as the popular annual event, Valentine’s Dance and Chocolates, returns to United Church of Chapel Hill on Saturday, February 10.
Tickets are $15 per person, reserved in advance, or $20 at the door.
The dance will be 7:30-10 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Tempting chocolate dessert treats will be available. Proceeds from the admission fee will support the church’s music program.
The Ambassadors, a 17-piece Swing-era big band, specializes in ballads, jump tunes and Latin dance numbers by jazz legends Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, and others popular in the 1930s ’40s and ’50s. Larry Triplett, trombonist, conducts the ensemble that consists of five saxes, four trumpets, four trombones, piano, guitar, bass and drums. Shelly McVicker and Raleigh Mann add vocals.
Grab your partner (or find one at the dance!) and your dancing shoes, and enjoy a night of music, chocolate, and love!
