The fourth annual Youth Choir Benefit Concert ​features Youth Choirs from: United Church of Chapel Hill​, University Presbyterian Church​, University United Methodist Church, and Binkley Baptist Church​. The concert will feature choral selections performed by each of the Youth Choirs, ​six​ anthems performed by all the choirs together and a speaker from the organization that will benefit from the proceeds of the concert. Four years ago singers and directors from UPC, UUMC and UCCH brainstormed together and came up with what has become an annual Youth Choir Benefit Concert and ​last year ​expanded to include Binkley Baptist Church's Youth Choir. Representatives from each choir get together in the fall and choose a local nonprofit to benefit from the proceeds of the donation​s​ collected at the concert. This year's benefit concert proceeds will go to support a local mental health initiative​, Josh's Hope Foundation, based in Hillsborough, NC. Over the past three years funds collected from the Benefit Concert have gone to support: TABLE, the Sophie Foundation, and the Carrboro Refugee Support Center. Planning of the concert offers youth a chance to get to know each other, sing together, and research and support local issues that they feel are important to the youth and young adults in our community. ​
